Reuben’s Skew Oil on canvas 48” x 60”

"I Object" reflects my fascination with and exploration of paradox, incongruity, and duality in our culture: in human relationships, in the media, and in art. In this painting series I question the issues surrounding the male vs the female “gaze.” My goal is to pose questions that engage you. In all the paintings a nude woman, incongruous in an everyday scene, stares at a famous painting, I she an objective observer, a participant, or as object? Are we viewer or voyeur? Boys of Summer
