Exhibition Statement

For the past few years, I’ve been making art on Post-it® notes—sometimes one each day, sometimes many. Making these notes has become a durational performance where individual notes capture a moment in time and where collected notes transform that moment into a continuum. I leave them as gifts. I stick them up in washrooms and museums. I give them to people on the street. They are by their nature ephemeral. I decided to transform the notes into larger, more concrete forms of art, thinking of them not just as a progression in time, but in size, or abstraction. Infinite regression fascinates us all, why not infinite progression?

What began as "playing around with Post-it notes" turned into what may be a life long fascination with progressions. Please follow the progressions through the site from the time continuum of Post-its ringing the gallery to the size, scale, and abstraction of the paintings.
